Debate about the independence process of Catalonia

Petition Details

The Catalan government has been trying to negotiate with the Spanish government a referendum of independence with all attempts frustrated by the Spanish negativity. A trial will be held on the 6th of February against our last president for allowing a non-binding vote on the future of Catalonia.

Additional Information

The Supreme Court of Justice of Catalonia will try our last president and two more ex-members of the parliament for allowing the non-binding vote held in 2014. Besides this, the current president and four more members of the Bureau of the Parliament may be suspended because they allowed the parliament to debate about a constituent process last July. Do not nations have the right to self-determination as stated by the United Nations?

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
