Don't waste parliamentary time debating e-petitions
Debating e-petitions is a waste of parliamentary time that could be put to better use.
There is nothing democratic about collecting 100,000 signatures - that is less than 0.2% of the population.
The only people who bother to sign petitions are people with strong views so they are not representative of the population as a whole.
We already have a far better way of finding out what the public wants to government to do. They're called general elections.
We voted for our MPs because we liked their policies. Don't force them to waste their time debating the worthless views of extremists.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
