Petition Action

All UK expatriates be allowed to vote in future UK Elections and Referendums

Petition Details

Expatriates living outside the UK for 15 years or more do not have the right to vote in UK Elections and Referendums. We believe that it is wrong as their lives may be affected by the outcomes. Remove the time limit to allow all UK citizens to vote in Elections and Referendums.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The Government has said that it does have plans to change this rule. It's therefore not clear what action you would like the Government to take that is different from what it is already doing.
