Create equality for heterosexual and homosexual couples when filing for divorce
With thousands of same-sex couples wedding since the law changed in March 2014, the need for equal divorce grounds is vital. Yet, currently obtaining a divorce on the grounds of adultery, for homosexual affairs even in same-sex marriages are excluded. Equal divorce rights for all.
Adultery is 1 of 5 grounds for divorce and will be considered in court as a 'fact' however, at present "it doesn’t count as adultery if they had sex with someone of the same sex. This includes if you’re in a same-sex marriage." (https://www.gov.uk/divorce/grounds-for-divorce)
This law essentially differentiates between the rights of people based on their sexuality and therefore is a form of discrimination which should be abolished.
