Family law: alter fees for parents wanting child access
When a parent is stopped from seeing their child, currently they are expected to pay £215 to take the other party to court to get a minimal contact order.
In order to then enforce this should a party break a contact order the parent with no access must pay another £215 to enforce the agreement.
This stops many parents from being able to see their children after an acrimonious split.
Many, who are not in a position where they can afford to pay for court support and mediation, feel let down by the court.
As a result, the fees need changing to a one off application fee with no additional fee for enforcing what has already been put in place.
