This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

We can't accept your petition because the issue you raise is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The British Board of Film Classification, an independent, non-governmental body, is responsible for deciding whether films are suitable for release. You can find out more about the BBFC and how to comment on its decisions here:

http://www.bbfc.co.uk/about-bbfc/faqs#F3

Local councils are legally responsible for what is shown in cinemas in their areas. You can find out how to contact your council representative here:

Animal cruelty in films is covered by the Cinematograph Films (Animals) Act 1937. If you think that the law needs to be changed, you could start a new petition calling on Parliament to make a specific change to the law.
