Strike off MPs who use lies to mislead voters to gain their vote.
In numerous environments misleading individuals to court or manipulate an outcome is punishable e.g. Perverting the course of justice, misleading consumers when advertising products. It should be mandatory that MPs when canvassing are bound by the law to not knowingly lie or mislead the public.
The last general election and Brexit vote contained numerous accounts of advertising and interviews where the statements were stated as facts, rather than opinions. When stating facts that are knowingly incorrect, that then sway a persons vote, individuals who gain either a parliamentary seat or pass a motion should be under some punishment. Political parties and members should be forced to legally follow up on fact statements or promises that are used to gain the vote.
