more than a quarter of millions pounds worth petrol,diesel oil and red diesel was stolen by thieves in the region during 2015 more than anywhere else in the country.
some 3804 incidents were reported to GMP during the year in question and was 1400 more than south yorkshire which is the second top hot spot with 2382 reported incidents.
