To mitigate against US policies that infringe upon human rights and environment.
With Donald Trump and the US limiting basic global human rights, equal rights and care for the environment, we urge the UK government to stand against restrictive policies by taking action that mitigates their negative effects. UK representatives, including May, must be vocal in our opposition.
Here are some of the attacks on human rights and the environment since Trump became President:
- References to climate change and equal rights removed from White House website
- Scientists faced with censorship
- Members of the press chastised and arrested
- Executive Order to build a wall across the Mexican border
- Executive Order to immediately stop immigration and refugees from Muslim countries
- Refugees detained at US airports
- Systematically dismantling of affordable healthcare

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do to mitigate the effects of these policies.
