Get the BBC to reinstate Brian Mathew as presenter of Sounds of The 60s
The great Brian Mathew a National Treasure if ever there was one has been 'removed' .as presenter of Sounds of the 60s a superb Radio 2 programme broadcast every Saturday Morning. Brian has presented the show since 1990. It's a stupid as well as clearly ageist decision and it must be reversed.
Below is a section from The Daily Telegraph's coverage of this disgraceful action by The BBC.
'The BBC said in a statement that, due to Matthew’s ill health, it had been mutually agreed that it was “the right time for him to step off the show
But Matthew said: “That's absolute balderdash.'I was ready and willing and able to go back, and they’ve just said they are going to put the programme in the hands of other people.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
The BBC is an independent body governed by a Royal Charter. Under the terms of that Charter, the BBC is operationally and editorially independent of government and there is no provision for the government to intervene in the BBC’s day-to-day operations.
