Petition Action

Parliament should NOT debate the death penalty

Additional Information

The government should not allow pressure groups to force a debate on the re-instatement of state legalised murder. This issue has been debated in the past and Parliament have consistantly and overwhelmingly voted against the death penalty. Therefore as a counter to minority pressure groups I call upon like minded people to counter these reactionary and divisive e-petitions that are trying to return the UK to the dark ages and sign this petition.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.

You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
