Abolish VAT on Ebooks
"Ebooks" (electronic books) are currently subject to VAT, whilst their paper counterparts are not. Being electronic, an ebook is environmentally friendly, weighs nothing, contains at least as much information as a paper book, and is better value for money for both consumer and publisher. WE THE UNDERSIGNED THEREFORE CALL ON HM GOVERNMENT TO ABOLISH VAT ON EBOOKS, HENCE TREATING THEM THE SAME AS PAPER BOOKS.
