Change the Petition Parliament website to register opposition to motions.
With the freedom to protest, comes the responsibility to be accountable. The right of British people to petition Parliament would be more relevant, and useful to our representatives, if those who seek support for their petition also 'risk' recording those who happen to disagree.
I would like parliament to change the official online Petition to include the opportunity for a balancing register of objectors to the motion. A simple technique to extend democracy and better gauge public opinion. Please provide a mechanism to object to the proposed motion in official Petitions to Parliament.
You can't sign this petition because it was rejected. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
There's already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
You are more likely to get action on this issue if you sign and share a single petition.
