Cancel HS2 now! It is unaffordable and the money could be much better spent.
HS2 has been the most controversial vanity project ever.
The 'Y' would be a better option, and is needed-HS2 is not. The cost has spiralled beyond belief and the money saved would be better spent on a larger proportion of the British population.
Stop before the country is bankrupt by it.
The business case has not been made - people DO work on trains (HS2 said people didn't) too much destruction of many wildlife habitats, it does not link up with Heathrow, it won't even end in Birmingham- it stops outside at Birmingham International and passengers have to get on an ordinary train into the city!
As it is only a short route it won't stop anywhere else-passengers have to travel in to London to get on it.
The money could be better spent on upgrading existing rail lines and roads.
