Petition Action

Save Batley and Spen Seat From Boundary Changes

Additional Information

We the undersigned believe that Batley and Spen should continue to be represented by a MP at the Houses of Commons. We feel that the proposed Boundary Changes will leave Batley and Spen isolated without a representative to voice issues concerning the people of the area in parliament.

This petition is fully supported by Awaaz Media. Who have seen first hand the work done by the local MP and feel that the community would be hurt badly without a dedicated MP.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

This is a matter for the Boundary Commission for England which is independent of Government. The BCE have launched a consultation into their Boundary report, too which contributions the general public would be welcomed. Please visit the Boundary Commission website for more details.
