Make the resale of tickets above the face value of the original ticket illegal
Having logged on to buy my daughter Ed Sheeran tickets at 10am, I made it into the queue holding page of Ticketmaster at 10.01am. I never got a ticket having waited for 3hrs for notification it was sold out, yet Ticketmaster had tickets for 4 times the price on their resale site by 10.15am.
This is not the first time I have come across this at major events, both concerts and sporting events. If you are a genuine fan, you should be able to purchase available tickets at the right price. If you can't go you for legitimate reasons you should be able to get your money back at facevalue. Resale sites which allow for tickets to be posted at more than the original face value are legitimising ticket touting!
