Parliament must correct factual errors associated with the Brexit Bill
The Brexit Bill contains a number of factual errors and it is vital that these are corrected before it receives further scrutiny. They are listed in the additional details below:
1. 65 million people are not willing this to happen. At best it may be 17.4 million. An accurate figure must be supplied.
2. The statement "the country is coming together" is in linguistic terms a "nominalisation".
3. The first statement is equivocal and could be seen as negative. It says "We do not approach these negotiations expecting failure, but anticipating success". We suggest this wording "The negotiations will be a great success".
4. The 14 week holiday promise must be paid holiday.
