Greater punishment for drivers convicted of drug or alcohol offences
Laws already allow for higher alcohol consumption in the UK than in many other countries and yet we allow offenders to face very limited actions or penalties for what is a serious offence. Repeat offenders see no consequence for their actions regardless of if they injure or kill anyone.
In 2014 for example between 220 and 260 people were killed in Great Britain where at least 1 driver was over the drink drive limit
The total number of casualties of all types in drink drive accidents is 8,210.
2015 show there were between 200 and 290 deaths in drink drive accidents AN INCREASE ON THE PREVIOUS YEAR
