Cease Unaudited On-Line Petitions Due To Fraudulent Abuse By Political Activists

Petition Details

The recent petition to attempt to prevent President Trump from an official state visit was not a valid petition. It contained hundreds of thousands of instant email addresses, adopted post codes & repeat votes, from the UK & overseas! It was a tool for propaganda, with news platforms & fraudulent.

Additional Information

It is irresponsible for to allow petitions without authentication! Anyone can adopt new UK email addresses, both in and out of the UK, repeatedly vote, with any post code! I move that these petitions cease. Replaced with a start up hard-copy, presented to an MP, checked, then on line, for those on the electoral role, with name, address, date of birth and NI number. Random checks should be made, by the Petitions Office, if fraud is evident: investigations/prosecutions, as with electoral fraud!

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. The statements in this petition about fraudulent signatures are not true.

You could start a new petition calling for different checks to be made when people sign a petition, provided that the petition makes a clear request for action. If you would like people to be able to be prosecuted for fraudulently signing petitions, then you would need to ask Parliament to change the law to make this a criminal offence.
