Institute a Parliamentary medal for an historic contribution to democracy
This award will be specifically for contributions to parliamentary democracy as distinct from other types of contributions to public life or to the work of the government or the crown.
The model should be the Congressional Gold Medal of the United States
For example without the actions of a private citizen Gina Miller Article 50 would not have been debated in parliament. Gina a private citizen lead a movement resulting in a historic Supreme Court judgement which will resound down the ages and clarify the balance of power between parliament and the government. Such a historic contribution to parliamentary democracy should be recognised by the Gold Medal.
