Petition Details

The speaker has announced his intention not to extend an invitation to the President of the United States of America to speak to MP's and Lords on the parliament estate. This is not remaining neutral, in fact it was partisan and in support of the socialists in the House.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

There is no mechanism for the removal of a Speaker during a Parliament. Other than at a general election, the Speaker can only stop being Speaker through resignation or death.
