Temporary Reduction in VAT November 2011-January 2012

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister and HM Government to seriously consider a temporary reduction in VAT (Value Added Tax) from November 2011 to January 2012.
In these times of austerity many families will feel the squeeze this Christmas. A temporary reduction in VAT will not only allow families' money to stretch further easing the financial stress over this season but promote more spending which will benefit businesses and therefore the British economy.
We would appreciate your careful consideration in parliament.
