Uphold Dubs Amendment & Process Remaining Calais Minor’s Family Reunification
The UK Government plans to close down the ‘Dubs scheme’ for the transfer of unaccompanied minors, capping the number of children at 350. Also the children brought to the UK for family reunification following the clearance of the Calais ‘Jungle’ were brought outside the Dublin III Framework.
We call on the Government to respect the word and spirit of section 67 of the Immigration Act and to keep the UK’s pledge to transfer 3000 unaccompanied minors to the UK.
We demand that the Home Office swiftly process the remaining cases of family reunification for Calais minors formally under the Dublin III Regulation and grant them the full rights and protections it affords, in order to prevent further trauma and suffering for these children.
