Reverse decision to not accept more unaccompanied asylum seeking children

Petition Details

Yesterday, the government reneged on it's previous commitment to reunite and accommodate a large number of unaccompanied asylum seeking children to the UK through Europe. Individuals and agencies offer a safe home to these children. Decision to backtrack on this demonstrates a lack of compassion.

Additional Information

The written statement from The Minister of State for Immigration can be found here: http://www.parliament.uk/business/publications/written-questions-answers-statements/written-statement/Commons/2017-02-08/HCWS467/
Although no exact figure was agreed when the then Prime Minister, David Cameron addressed this in May 2016, it is reasonable to expect the UK government to offer more than the small number accepted to date.
