Allow town councils to set their own business rates
Small towns across the U.K. Are suffering from empty shops due in part to excessive business rates. These rates should be set locally and councils should be able to suspend temporarily in order to boast local business.
Currently rates are set by the valuation office. They need to be set locally based on requirements and economic growth.
