Petition Action

The government gives notice and honest and open disclosure to its people on PFI contracts giving away government assets/ services to private business.

Additional Information

Given that the transfer of assets/services in PFI schemes to private business is part way towards privatisation as these schemes in the main have been concentrated in the education medical justice and defence sectors with substantial loss of jobs / service, that before entering into any such contracts with private business the intentions and the consequences of what this means for the tax payer in cost and future services should be notified to the public in articles and notices in the press so that the public can decide whether these schemes are value for money.

This is perfectly reasonable request given that many of these shcemes have had appalling financial consequences for the tax payers who are now indebted for 25-30 years paying for the cost of these schemes out of future tax revenue to the detriment of the services they are enititled to.
