The Speaker should resign or be dismissed.
Following The Speaker's comments in the House of Commons it is time he retired. It is difficult for MPs to criticise The Speaker so it is important the public expresses its view.
Comments made by The Speaker about the President of the USA, the UK's most important ally, risked damaging the special relationship.

There is no mechanism for the removal of a Speaker during a Parliament. Other than at a general election, the Speaker can only stop being Speaker through resignation or death.
