Citizens to be given notice when benefits are stopped
Currently citizens claiming benefits can have their benefits stopped without notice & only find out when they go to collect their benefits.
I would like the system to be changed so that the DWP must give notice (1 week/2 weeks?) informing a claimant that their benefits will be stopped.
Also I think the DWP should be made to carry on paying claimants when it's they're decisions the claimant is waiting for.
Loads of people owe the DWP overpaid money & loads of people get backdated pay when they are owed money so the situation would not change much at all for the DWP but it would make a huge difference to claimants claiming benefits, not having to worry if they will be paid when their supposed to & not being left stranded when their benefits suddenly stop.
This also should have an affect on crime, what are people supposed to do when their benefits suddenly stop, with no notice & they have to feed themselves & their family?
