Force the British Museum to return the Elgin Marbles to Greece.

Petition Details

In 1801 the Elgin Marbles were removed from Greece by Thomas Bruce, 7th Earl of Elgin during his tenure as Ambassador to the Ottoman Empire.

Greece has repeatedly demanded their return but the British Museum continues to refuse.

The repatriation of an item from the collection of the British Museum is a matter for the Trustees of the British Museum, not the UK Government or Parliament.
