Exclusion of Speed Camera evidence from prosecution of motorists
We petition the Government to enact legislation excluding the use of evidence provided by "speed cameras" from any prosecution of motorists, except in certain circumstances as follows :
1) When the speed camera is directly operated by a physical police officer at the roadside or from a police vehicle.
2) When a majority of local people, defined via the electoral roll or similar, support a particular camera at a particular site. Further, we petition that such a majority shall only be recognised if more than 50% of said eligible people actively express an opinion.
This legislation to be presented to House of Commons for debate no later than 12 months after this petition passes the acceptance threshold.
You can't sign this petition because it is now closed. But you can still comment on it here at Repetition.me!
