Instruct the Bank of England to print no further notes containing tallow.
The inclusion of this ingredient is offensive to vegans and vegetarians and to people from a wide range of religious backgrounds.
As consumers, we can choose which products to buy based on our deeply held personal beliefs, but the currency of the land needs to be for everybody.
We are highly disappointed at the Bank of England’s lack of courage and consideration for the UK population by announcing on 15th February 2017 that in September they intend to go ahead with issuing ten pound notes containing this animal ingredient in addition to the five pound notes already in circulation.
New banknotes should only be printed when an alternative ingredient is used so the nation’s currency can be used by all.
