Set Aside One Day in the Public Holiday Calendar to Celebrate Great Britain.

Petition Details

In Britain we don't celebrate our country, in fact we have been taught that if we do we are inward looking nationalists being fanatical. This is utterly wrong. We need just one day in the year in which we can celebrate our culture, history, values and national character. We need a Great Britain Day.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We're not sure whether you'd like Parliament to create a new public holiday, or whether you'd like an existing public holiday to be used as "Great Britain Day". You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
