my great nanna of 95yrs is made to be a prisoner in her own home she has asked for help to be able to help her live her last years in her home all she had asked was smaller steps or a wheelchair ramp and this has been declined they would rather move her and disrupt my 95 great grandmother

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Your local council is responsible for providing aids and adaptations to help elderly people to keep on living in their own homes as they get older, so this isn't something that the UK Government or Parliament could help you with.

You could try contacting your local councillor for advice about what to do next. You can find out who your councillor is here: www.gov.uk/find-your-local-councillors. Your local MP might also be able to help you, and you can find them here: http://www.parliament.uk/mps-lords-and-offices/mps/

You can find more information here about applying for grants to help with home adaptations if your great grandmother is registered disabled: www.disabilityrightsuk.org/housing-grants
