If the elected PM resigns or dies, then a gereral election is to be held.
On May, 7th 2015 the people of the UK voted for David Cameron Leader of the Conservative Party to be the Prime Minister of the UK.
After the Brexit referendum on June 23rd 2016 David Cameron resigned as PM, resulting in an unelected PM.
An unelected Prime Minister is unacceptable for a democratic society that leads the world in democracy. The people of the UK should de allowed to decide who leads our nation after the resignation or death of an elected PM.
I would therefore like to start a petition asking before anymore unorthodox decisions are made by an unelected PM, a general election should be held. The people of the UK must be allowed to decide who leads our nation.
