Stop Members of the House of Lords being paid £300 for turning up

Petition Details

Unelected Members of the House of Lords can currently claim £300 from taxpayers per day for simply signing in to the chamber. They do not have to speak, they do not have to engage at all. It is virtually impossible for a peer to lose these privileges

Additional Information

There are currently more members of the House of Lords than there are MPs, many of them appointed because of their historic support of Prime Ministers and their parties, sometimes because they have funded those parties.
