Petition Action

British/Settled UK Citizens are being treated unfairly in comparison to EUs

Petition Details

According to U.K. Law British Citizens or settled person need to have £18600 annual income to bring their spouses from outside UK/EU. There is an application fee of £1,195 and NHS surcharge.
In contrast, EU family members Get free family permit. Also there are no high income requirement or NHS fee

Additional Information

British/Settled person need £18600 per annum income and can't claim public fund to sponsor their spouses whereas Citizens don't need any income requirement and can claim public fund while sponsoring their spouses.

British/Settled persons rules: https://www.gov.uk/join-family-in-uk

EU Citizens Rules: https://www.gov.uk/family-permit

I feel that British/settled persons are treated unfairly in comparison to EU Citizens and appealing to change it to the same as EU Citizens.
