Allow working families to benefit from basic financial help
Many couples with children have to work full time to provide for their families. However, if you earn the living wage you become illegible for the majority of financial help such as Tax Credits or Healthy Start Vouchers.
Working Tax Credits, Child Tax Credits and Healthy Start Vouchers are just a few things couples with children are not entitled to if they work full time. However, when applying for these basic support systems they don't take into account the day to day running of a home or childcare costs; this means that a lot of families are forced to struggle to make ends meet in order to work. Yet if just one parent works financial help is simple to gain.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly how you'd like the rules about who is eligible for financial support to be changed.
