Force HMRC to use 0800 number
We, the undersigned, believe that decisions for change in systems and staff levels should not affect the amount of money one has to fund for a phone call in order to rectify any arising issues with HMRC.
Recent media released a statement from HMRC's Chief Executive referring to tax payers as customers. This attitude is hindering their purpose. The public needs to be reminded they are a service as opposed to a business and that we are not 'customers.'
We must no longer pay to contact a service we are funding.
"Strengthening the Civil Service - including ensuring value for money to the taxpayer."
