Petition Action

Make the CJS more equal, not favouring the bourgeoisie.

Petition Details

Andrew Picard, who is an Eton student, is the son of a very rich lawyer. He was allowed to use his mother's maiden in court to protect his family's reputation, when he was charged with being in possession of indecent images and videos of children. He was given an 18 month suspended sentence.

Additional Information

The CJS is favouring the elite and this is evident via Andrew Picard's cast. The Lord Chancellor needs to open a judicial review in to the CJS and in to the judge, who allowed Picard to use his mother's maiden name.

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
