UK Government to outlaw the building of homes on land contaminated by asbestos.
The Turner Brothers Asbestos plant in Rochdale was the world's foremost manufacturer of asbestos for 100 years. The land is contaminated. To build housing there would be of severe detriment to public health and the environment.
