The Government announced in the 2017 spring Budget that they intend to increase class 4 national insurance contributions (NICs) for the self-employed from 9% to 11% over the next two years. The Budget also includes a decrease in the allowance from £5,000 to £2,000 for dividends from 2018.
Full details of the 2017 spring Budget can be found on the .Gov.uk website here - https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/spring-budget-2017-documents/spring-budget-2017#tax
