Petition Action

UK Government - rethink the E-Cig regulations starting May 2017.

Petition Details

It is proven that E-cigarettes are 95% healthier than tobacco cigarettes, they help smokers to cut down on nicotine and eventually stop with all tobacco products. These new laws make E-Cigs more expensive, less environmentally friendly and a huge reduction of quality products offered.

Additional Information

Ahead are some of the new laws. Causing more plastic waste and less people kicking their smoking habits, causing a mass amount of strain on the NHS from cigarette inflicted health issues.

• Refill containers cannot exceed 10ml
• maximum nicotine strength of 20mg
• maximum tank capacity of 2ml

This petition was rejected

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

The issue you raise is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament. The Tobacco Products Directive (TPD) is an EU Directive. You could start a new petition asking for the UK Government to work with other EU member states to change the TPD, or to change the law on e-cigarettes after the UK leaves the EU.
