I WANT THE INTEREST RATES TO BE RAISED BY 2 % FOR SAVERS
Cheap loans have been around for 10 years now. I paid mortgage rates of 15 and 11% 1980 and 1990 now it is time to retire and pensioners are being used. I can not retire as a result of cheap loans. What is the point in saving during your life time.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. The UK Government and Parliament can only interfere with the Bank of England's interest rates in extreme circumstances. It cannot regulate the Bank's regular interest rates.
You may wish to start a new petition asking for more Government powers over the Bank of England's interest rates, as this is something that the UK Government and Parliament could create a law about.
