A Comprehensive Review Of How Local Authorities Raise Revenue

Additional Information

Whilst the Conservative pledge to freeze council tax for a further year is welcome it is becoming clear that councils, rather than attempting genuine reform, are finding alternative means of generating revenue through the introduction of charges for services previously free or above inflation penalty & parking charges.

We need a review of what councils are currently doing to raise revenue & rules set in place to ensure they are fair & progressive - any attempt at public sector reform will be meaningless until the revenue stream is curbed to pro-growth levels.
