MP should bring their pensions in line with other public sector workers
Members of Parliament should Lead By Example by bringing their own pensions in line with that of other public sector workers. Currently MPs receive one 40th of their salary as a pension per year. If an MP dies in service their partner receives four times their annual basic salary. MPs should also scrap the tax free resettlement grant which they automatically receive upon leaving Parliament which is current a minimum of £32,869 or more depending on their length of service.
