Any future referendum should require a margin of >20% for result to be valid.

Petition Details

The Scottish Referendum and the EU referendum created division and ongoing calls for rerun.
No referendum should create constitutional change unless the winners achieve at least 60% of votes cast on at least 70% turnout.

The Government e-Petitions Team gave the following reason:

Petitions need to call on the UK Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

It is clear that you would like a margin of more than 20% for any future referendum result to be valid. We're not sure whether you are also asking for a minimum turnout of 70%.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do. If you are concerned about majorities in referendums, you might also like to sign this petition on that topic:
