Start a Basic Income trial in the UK
Many other countries are currently running trials on a Universal Basic Income for it's citizens, to investigate whether or not it would be beneficial.
This idea is gaining traction & early evidence from other trials show it's benefits are many and great.
A Basic Income involves giving a guarenteed monetary amount to every citizen regardless of whether or not they enagage in traditional work.
The benefits of a Basic Income would be:
- A simplification of the benefits & Tax systems
- Guarantee a basic standing of living for all citizens, reducing or removing poverty
- Allow people to work less if they choose to, using their time how they wish, improving health & standard of life
- Recognise unpaid work as valuable
- Help the environment
