George Osborne not to be an MP if is editor of The London Evening Standard.
George Osborne is an MP and is to become editor of The London Evening Standard (4 days per week). He has other paid and unpaid jobs already.
I think this appointment makes a mockery of the independence of the media and also raises the question about MP's having other paid jobs.
The Register of MP's interests that can be found on-line shows a difference in the second jobs of MP's. The job in question is said to pay £200k per year alongside his MP's salary of £74,692 and £650,000 per year from BlackRock Investment Institute. Surely a poor example to set, when many people in The UK struggle to make ends meet.
