Stop MPs taking on significant roles beyond their full-time job
Being an MP should be a full-time job - that's how their recent salary increases have been justified.
No MP should be allowed to have 2nd/3rd jobs that go beyond occasional or part-time work.
They should not occupy (in those jobs) a role that would be a stand-alone full-time job.
We want to see a diverse range of people representing us in parliament - that's why MPs salaries have increased significantly more than other public sector jobs. But people like George Osborne are exploiting the flexibility of the job:
