Legalise the use, sale and production of Cannabis in the United Kingdom
We the people, call upon the government to legalise the use, sale and production of Cannabis in the UK.
Five arguments for legalisation:
1. Post Brexit economic boom
2. Job creation for British citizens
3. Its medical benefits
4. Personal liberty
5. Reduction in non-violent crime offences
Currently the illegal cannabis industry is worth £6.8 billion (as of 2013), a legalised and regulated market has a potential to provide jobs, economic growth and would help to encourage tourism to the UK. Its time to end the failed system of prohibition and allow British citizens to have the right to use of a harmless plant if they choose to do so.
